Latest retailer leak also states Commander Mode is returning.

A promotional poster spotted on Australian retailer EB Games has marked October 31, 2013 as the release date for upcoming shooter Battlefield 4.
Thursday is traditionally the day games are released in Australia, which could suggest a Tuesday October 29 release date for North America and the UK.
The EB Games poster was snapped by BF4Central, and is the latest retailer leak that states the series’ Commander Mode will be returning in Battlefield 4. “Rank up into the seat of the brand new Commander Mode and lead your team to victory,” says the poster.
Battlelog 2.0, the next version of Battlefield’s social tracking tool, is also mentioned. “Track every shot, every opponent, every detail of your online Battlefield career,” it says.
Customers are also told to “Go Premium”, with another mention of the previously rumoured Drone Strike DLC.
Earlier promotional material suggested the game will feature three playable factions: the US, China, and Russia.
Battlefield 4 was officially unveiled by EA during GDC 2013. So far EA has only confirmed the game for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Controversial Dead Island: Riptide Zombie Bait edition available now.
![]()
Techland’s first-person shooter Dead Island: Riptide was met with controversy for its Zombie Bait edition last year, but that has not stopped the product from being sold at retail.
The Zombie Bait edition features a 31cm resin statue of a decapitated near-naked female upper body. The bloody torso was a centerpiece in the special edition exclusive to the United Kingdom, Europe, and Australia. Publisher Deep Silver apologised for any offense caused by the statue, which drew much criticism after its announcement.
“We sincerely regret this choice,” the company said in January, “We are collecting feedback continuously from the Dead Island community, as well as the international gaming community at large. We want to reiterate to the community, fans and industry how deeply sorry we are, and that we are committed to making sure this will never happen again.”
However, despite issuing the apology, the Zombie Bait edition has gone on sale at UK retailers and in limited quantities in Australia.
The Dead Island: Riptide Zombie Bait edition also includes a steelbook case for the game, collectible artwork cards, and an exclusive pack of weapon mods.
Dead Island: Riptide is available now for the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC.

Episodic adventure series hitting Australian stores next month; retail release will include all five episodes of the first season.
![]()
Telltale Games’ episodic adventure series The Walking Dead will be getting a retail release in Australia on the Xbox 360, PS3, and PC on May 9 this year.
Telltale announced it would be releasing the game as a retail product in Australia following the Classification Board of Australia’s decision to rate the title MA15+ for “strong themes and horror violence”.
The retail release of the game compiles all five episodes of the first season of Telltale’s The Walking Dead, which debuted in April 2012 as a digital download.
Telltale revealed early last year that it had no plans to release the game in Australia and New Zealand due to strict rating laws. Australia officially introduced an adult classification for video games on January 1 this year, allowing R18+ rated games to be sold at a national level.
Prior to its classification in Australia, Telltale’s The Walking Dead was obtainable on PC and Mac via digital games retailer Steam, or purchased online through Telltale’s own site.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead is a single-player episodic game that is based on Robert Kirkman’s comic book series. It stars Lee Everett, a man convicted of a crime, but given a chance to redeem himself, albeit in a world infested with the undead.
