Oculus Rift, Razer Edge to be demoed on Jimmy Fallon

Virtual-reality headset and gaming tablet to appear on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week.

The Oculus Rift virtual-reality headset and Razer Edge gaming tablet will be demoed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon this week, The Verge editor in chief Joshua Topolsky has announced. Topolsky will demo the devices on this Wednesday’s show.

Fallon is no stranger to games and technology. His show hosts an annual Video Game Week, which last year featured The Last of Us, Halo 4, Call of Duty: Black Ops II, Wii U, and Madden NFL 13.

The Oculus Rift was originally targeted to ship during holiday 2012, but was delayed in November to a release by April 2013. The company said the delay was necessary due to extra time required to implement changes and modifications to the device necessary for mass-manufacturing.

The Razer Edge–formerly Project Fiona–was announced during the 2013 Consumer Electronics Show this month. A basic version starts at $1,000, with the Pro model shipping for $1,300. Both models will be available by April 2013.
