Also no platforms are up year-on-year. The Wii has dropped by 73 percent, the biggest by percent, while the PlayStation Vita has the smallest drop at 13 percent.
10 games debuted in the top 30 this week. Tomb Raider (2013) (PS3) debuted at the top of the software charts with sales of 538,224. The Xbox 360 version debuted at number two with sales of 478,680. The PC version debuted at number nine with sales of 74,545.
There are no software milestones this week in the top 30.
Hardware home console sales week-on-week are down across the board. PlayStation 3 sales are down 15,737 (-11%) to 129,469 units sold. Xbox 360 sales are down 5,985 (-6%) to 87,367 units sold. The Wii U sold 29,820 units, a decrease of 621 (-2%). The Wii sold 23,414 units, a decrease of 3,531 (-13%).
Handheld sales week-on-week are up for the PSP, flat for the Vita, and down for the DS, and 3DS. The 3DS sold 127,264 units, which is down 21,728 (-15%) week-on-week. The PlayStation Vita down 144 (0%) to 83,825 units sold. The PSP sold 29,665 units which is up 9,417 (47%) compared to last week. The DS is down 4,991 (-20%) to 19.954 units sold. Total week on week sales are down 43,320 units (-8%) to 530,778 units sold.
No platforms are up year-on-year. The PlayStation 3 is down 76,559 (-37%), the Wii is down 62,325 (-73%), and the Xbox 360 is down 5,985 (-39%). The PSP is down 43,932 (-60%), the DS is down 23,500 (-54%), the Vita is down 12,798 (-13%) and the 3DS is down 36,182 (-22%). Year on year sales are down 281,617 units (-35%).
Home console hardware sales have decreased for the all four home consoles for three straight weeks. The PlayStation 3 has led for the last 11 weeks.
The PlayStation 3 has a 54 percent market share for the seventh generation; the Xbox 360 has a 36 percent market share; and the Wii has a 10 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago all four home consoles are down.
Handheld hardware sales have increased for two weeks for the PSP and have remained flat for the Vita for one week. Sales have decreased for four weeks for the 3DS and two weeks for the DS. The Vita has come within 44,000 units of its rival the 3DS.
The PSP has a 60 percent market share this week for the seventh generation handhelds and the DS with 40 percent. The 3DS has a 60 percent market share for the eighth generation of handhelds, while the Vita has a 40 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the Vita us up, while the 3DS, DS and PSP are down.

Software home console sales week-on-week are up for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, and down for the Wii and Wii U. The PlayStation 3 sold the most games this week with sales of 2.20 million, an increase of 595,658 units (37%). The Xbox 360 sold 1.70 million games this week, an increase of 489,642 units (40%). Wii software sales are down 45,151 units (-8%) to 537,910 games sold. The Wii U sold 74,772 games, a decrease of 1,652 (-2%).
Handheld software sales are up for the Vita and down for the 3DS, DS and PSP. The 3DS sold 548,488 games, which is down 181,779 units (-25%). The DS sold 327,402 games, a decrease of 10,456 units (-3%) week-on-week. The Vita sold 311,651 games, an increase of 54,977 (21%). PSP game sales are down 6,112 units (-3%) to 192,390 games sold. Total combined software is up 895,127 units (18%) week-on-week to 5.89 million.
Year on year software totals are up for the 3DS and Vita, and down for everything else. The PlayStation 3 is down 53,377 units (-2%), the Wii is down 508,550 units (-49%) and the Xbox 360 is down 1,017,488 units (-37%). The DS is down 111,438 units (-25%), the PSP is down 4,418 units (-2%), the 3DS is up 28,531 units (5%), and the Vita is up 122,232 units (65%). Total combined software is down 1.47 million units (-20%) games sold year on year.
Home console software sales have increased for one week for the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, and three weeks for the Wii and Wii U. The PlayStation 3 has led for three straight weeks and seven of the last 10 weeks. The Xbox 360 led for the other three weeks.
The PlayStation 3 has a 50 percent market share, the Xbox 360 with 38 percent, and the Wii with 12 percent. Compared to ten weeks ago all four home consoles are down.
The 3DS sold the most software for a handheld for the 12th straight week. The 3DS and DS have remained above their rivals, the Vita and PSP respectively. The 3DS sold nearly twice as many games as the Vita. The DS also sold nearly twice as many games as the PSP.
The DS has a 63 percent market share for the current generation handhelds and the PSP has a 37 percent market share. The 3DS has a 64 percent market share for the next generation handhelds, while the Vita has a 36 percent market share. Compared with ten weeks ago the Vita sold more games, while the 3DS, DS and PSP sold less.
